"For it will be as when a man going on a journey
called his servants and entrusted to them his property;
to one he gave five talents, to another two, to another one,
to each according to his ability."
Matthew 25:14-15
Ability to offer in rebuilding the house of God
Some of the heads of the families gave freewill offerings toward the rebuilding of the house of God on its site. According to their ability they gave to the treasury for the work (Ez. 2:68-69). I weighed out to them the offering that all had donated for the house of our God (Ez. 8:25).
Ability to know how to carry out all the work
Every skilled person to whom the LORD has given skill and ability to know how to carry out all the work of constructing the sanctuary are to do the work just as the LORD has commanded (Ex. 36:1).
Ability to provide help to others especially the poor
The disciples, each according to his ability, decided to provide help for the brothers (Acts 11:29). I testify that according to their ability, and beyond their ability, they gave of their own accord (2 Cor. 8:3). All they asked was that we should continue to remember the poor, the very thing I was eager to do (Gal. 2:10).
The Author of Ability
Remember the LORD your God, for it is he who gives you the ability to produce wealth, and so confirms his covenant, which he swore to your forefathers, as it is today (Dt. 8:18). The blessing of the LORD brings wealth, and he adds no trouble to it (Prv. 10:22).
"I have filled him with the Spirit of God, giving him great wisdom, ability, and expertise in all kinds of crafts" (Ex. 31:3). The LORD has given them the ability to teach their skills to others (Ex. 35:34).
After an absence of several years, I came to bring my people gifts for the poor and to present offerings (Acts 24:17). Now I bring the firstfruits of the soil that you, O LORD, have given me (Dt. 26:10).
