DO AND TEACH ALL THE COMMANDMENTS

"Whoever then relaxes one of the least of these commandments
and teaches men so, shall be called least in the kingdom of heaven;
but he who does them and teaches them
shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven."
Matthew 5:19

LET YOUR WORDS BE FEW

My dear brothers, take note of this: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry (Jas. 1:19). Do not be quick with your mouth, do not be hasty in your heart to utter anything before God. God is in heaven and you are on earth, so let your words be few. As a dream comes when there are many cares, so the speech of a fool when there are many words (Eccl. 5:2-3).

A man of knowledge uses words with restraint, and a man of understanding is even-tempered (Prv. 17:27). When words are many, sin is not absent, but he who holds his tongue is wise (Prv. 10:19). The tongue has the power of life and death, and those who love it will eat its fruit (Prv. 18:21).

GUARD YOUR LIPS

Keep your tongue from evil and your lips from speaking lies (Ps. 34:13). If anyone considers himself religious and yet does not keep a tight rein on his tongue, he deceives himself and his religion is worthless (Jas. 1:26).  He who guards his lips guards his life, but he who speaks rashly will come to ruin (Prv. 13:3). He who guards his mouth and his tongue keeps himself from calamity (Prv. 21:23).

OBEY THE WHOLE LAW

We all stumble in many ways. If anyone is never at fault in what he says, he is a perfect man, able to keep his whole body in check (Jas. 3:2). For whoever keeps the whole law and yet stumbles at just one point is guilty of breaking all of it (Jas 2:10). Again I declare to every man that he is obligated to obey the whole law (Gal. 5:3).

Therefore, my brothers, be all the more eager to make your calling and election sure. For if you do these things, you will never fall (2 Pt. 1:10). Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything (Jas. 1:4).

Set a guard over my mouth, O LORD; keep watch over the door of my lips (Ps. 141:3).

Do and Teach the Word of God

"He who does them and teaches them
shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven."
Matthew 5:19

"Think not that I have come to abolish the law and the prophets; I have come not to abolish them but to fulfill them" (Matthew 5:17).

He declares his word, his statutes and ordinances (Psalm 147:19).  He sends forth his command to the earth; his word runs swiftly. (Psalm 147:15).

"For truly, I say to you, till heaven and earth pass away, not an iota, not a dot, will pass from the law until all is accomplished" (Matthew 5:18).

Give heed to the statutes and the ordinances which I teach you, and do them; that you may live (Deuteronomy 4:1).  Keep them and do them; for that will be your wisdom and your understanding  (Deuteronomy 4:5).

Take heed, and keep your soul diligently, lest you forget the things which your eyes have seen, and lest they depart from your heart all the days of your life; make them known to your children and your children's children  (Deuteronomy 4:9).

Nothing but self-will can separate us from God. -- St. Alphonsus Liguori

I have taught you statutes and ordinances, as the LORD my God commanded me (Deuteronomy 4:5).

Praise the LORD! Praise my God! (Psalm 147:12)

There has never been a God so near to me as you my LORD, whenever I call upon you (Deuteronomy 4:7).

Deal with me according to your word (Psalm 147:20). So righteous is your law, statutes and ordinances which you have set before me this day (Deuteronomy 4:8).

Praise the LORD!

In Jesus Name. Amen.
"Whoever receives this child in my name receives me, and whoever receives me receives him who sent me; for he who is least among you all is the one who is great" (Luke 9:48).
