HOW DO YOU FIGHT AN ENEMY?

First Reading:

Then came Am'alek and fought with Israel at Reph'idim. And Moses said to Joshua, "Choose for us men, and go out, fight with Am'alek; tomorrow I will stand on the top of the hill with the rod of God in my hand." So Joshua did as Moses told him, and fought with Am'alek; and Moses, Aaron, and Hur went up to the top of the hill. Whenever Moses held up his hand, Israel prevailed; and whenever he lowered his hand, Am'alek prevailed.

But Moses' hands grew weary; so they took a stone and put it under him, and he sat upon it, and Aaron and Hur held up his hands, one on one side, and the other on the other side; so his hands were steady until the going down of the sun. And Joshua mowed down Am'alek and his people with the edge of the sword.

BE GUIDED BY A CHILD

Then the wolf shall be a guest of the lamb, and the leopard shall lie down with the kid; the calf and the young lion shall browse together, with a little child to guide them. - Isaiah 11:6

I give you praise, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, for although you have hidden these things from the wise and the learned you have revealed them to the childlike. Yes, Father, such has been your gracious will. - Luke 10:21

By the mouth of babes and infants, thou hast founded a bulwark because of thy foes, to still the enemy and the avenger. - Psalms 8:2

About

A Child of God is one that is poor in spirit who seeks and finds the kingdom of heaven. His journey at first will be difficult but in the end, he will find comfort. He shall endure all for the sake of the kingdom, knowing that he is a part of it. He shall never waiver in faith, but instead hopes and waits for his great reward that would give him and everlasting joy in heaven. He will leave his old self behind and will be transformed as a Child, who is completely dependent and obedient to the will of the Father.

As such, he shall be rewarded with a land he can truly call his own. In all his days, he shall strive for righteousness and this will remain him focused on God's guidance and directions. He shall possess the heart of God that is truly merciful and just. With a clean heart, he shall always experience the presence of God in his life and he will always be at peace.

The Good Shepherd

"What man of you, having a hundred sheep, if he has lost one of them, does not leave the ninety-nine in the wilderness, and go after the one which is lost, until he finds it?

And when he has found it, he lays it on his shoulders, rejoicing.

And when he comes home, he calls together his friends and his neighbors, saying to them, `Rejoice with me, for I have found my sheep which was lost.'

Just so, I tell you, there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who need no repentance.

For to us a child is born, to us a son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder, and his name will be called "Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace" (Isaiah 9:6).

There shall come forth a shoot from the stump of Jesse, and a branch shall grow out of his roots (Isaiah 11:1) .

But as he considered this, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream, saying, "Joseph, son of David, do not fear to take Mary your wife, for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Spirit; she will bear a son, and you shall call his name Jesus, for he will save his people from their sins."

All this took place to fulfil what the Lord had spoken by the prophet: "Behold, a virgin shall conceive and bear a son, and his name shall be called Emmanuel" (which means, God with us).

When Joseph woke from sleep, he did as the angel of the Lord commanded him; he took his wife, but knew her not until she had borne a son; and he called his name Jesus (Matthew 1:20-25).

What then will this child be?" For the hand of the Lord was with him (Luke 1:66).

And the child grew and became strong, filled with wisdom; and the favor of God was upon him (Luke 2:40).
