REFLECTION
Philippines my Philippines, the land of the rising sun!
The Lord shall restore you from your former glory and your city shall be made faithful. Peace shall reign in your land and public safety shall again be regained. People of all ages and from all walks of life, will once more enjoy the bounty of your surroundings. These may sound impossible for you today, but nothing is impossible for the Lord. It is he who speaks that He shall rescue His people from the land of the rising sun. He shall dwell with them, they shall be His people and He will be their God!
Such words from the Lord gives hope to a Filipino like me who came from a land of the rising sun. Much chaos and confusion has again rocked the nation and one wonders, when will our beloved nation ever rise in order to secure and uplift the lives of its people?
The nation again faces another election of leaders from its smallest form of government called the “Barangay”. Many of its people shall again aspire for the positions of Chairmen and Council Members. The common question is, “Are they really sincere to serve in public office or they just want the power, prestige and influence that goes with the position in order to enrich themselves?”
This is not a matter for these candidates to prove or answer but rather a challenge for Juan dela Cruz. Evil exists because good men do nothing. It is the sovereign right of any citizen to choose and vote a candidate whom he feels can be serve his interest. We only get what we deserve.
I myself belong to a political party embodied with principles and not personalities. These are composed of dedicated public servants who have never enriched themselves in office. They can never be bought nor sacrifice the welfare of the people they serve. They are the men and women of the “Partido Demokratiko Pilipino – Lakas ng Bayan” otherwise known as “PDP-LABAN”.
Personally, I have no political ambition but I am willing to help and support those who believe that the mission of every Filipino is to serve God and Men.
