G O S P E L
G O S P E L
The seventy-two returned rejoicing, and said, "Lord, even the demons are subject to us because of your name". Jesus said, "I have observed Satan fall like lightning from the sky. Behold, I have given you the power to tread upon serpents and scorpions and upon the full force of the enemy and nothing will harm you. Nevertheless, do not rejoice because the spirits are subject to you, but rejoice because your names are written in heaven."
At that very moment he rejoiced in the Holy Spirit and said, "I give you praise, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, for although you have hidden these things from the wise and the learned you have revealed them to the childlike. Yes, Father, such has been your gracious will. All things have been handed over to me by my Father. No one knows who the Son is except the Father, and who the Father is except the Son and anyone to whom the Son wishes to reveal him."
Turning to the disciples in private he said,"Blessed are the eyes that see what you see. For I say to you, many prophets and kings desired to see what you see, but did not see it, and to hear what you hear, but did not hear it."
PRAYER AND REFLECTION
Ego tribuo vos laus , Abbas , Senior Olympus quod terra , pro tametsi vos occultus illa res ex sapiens quod philologus vos ostendo sum lemma. Etiam , Abbas , talis vestri propitius mos.
Not all people were blessed and chosen by the Lord to serve, and not all servants were given the gift to personally experience the living God and be able to use His awesome powers for the benefit of others. Such gift gives you the wisdom and understanding of the mystery and it also serves as your determination in striving to be holy. Having eyes to see exposes the shame and devastation that sins can cause to a servant's life.
Everytime I commit a sin, my first impulse is to feel shame and guilt in the eyes of my Lord. I am concerned and worried that He will no longer reveal Himself to me in prayer and I will no longer have the chance and opportunity to be guided and directed by Him. "No Longer" dictates my state of mind but in reality, God's whisper is "Always Forever".
A Father will never abandon his child but instead make him understand his wrongdoings with the hope that in the end, he will be a better person. This is the problem when we chose to listen to the world that rationalizes the difference and distinction between God and Men. We are influenced to look at God as supernatural being that punishes those who do not conform to His will. If this is the case, then no one will be left with God for none of us are free from sin except our Lord Jesus Christ. All of us will be like stow-away children wandering in the vast wilderness or at the worse, living in darkness.
As the Lord said, "I desire Mercy". If a person has disobeyed God, he is given the chance to repent, say sorry, and ask forgiveness from the Lord. If we continue to justify our sins and wrondoings instead of admitting that we have done something wrong, how can we ever live under the grace of God?
You have been given the eyes to see that a sin is a sin. It has brought you to shame in the eyes of your creator. Repent and be saved instead of choosing the life of disobedience, a path that Adam and Eve took that led them to live outside of God's grace.
