BENEFITS OF SERVING

He who serves God willingly is heard; his petition reaches the heavens. The prayer of the lowly pierces the clouds; it does not rest till it reaches its goal, Nor will it withdraw till the Most High responds, judges justly and affirms the right. -- Sirach 35:16-18

The LORD redeems loyal servants; no one is condemned whose refuge is God. (Psalm 34:23)

REFLECTION
The key is to willingly serve God at all times. The sad part in our world today is the fact that we usually set aside God as our last resort. We turn to Him only after exerting all our efforts to solve our problems and when all things seem to fail, then we cry out for help. In some cases, we choose a solution and pray to God to bless that solution we had in mind. In the process, we put ourselves first; and God last, which is the exact opposite of what God expects from us. Such an attitude is no more than an exercise of self-righteousness, believing that when all things are well for us, we are not in need of God. The fact is we are nothing without God who gives us life!
