HAVE I ANYTHING TO LOOSE?

In John 6:39, the Lord said, "This is the will of him who sent me, that I should lose nothing of all that he has given me . . ."

Have I anything to loose if I stop actively serving God in His church? I guess life will be a lot easier if I just concentrate on attending to the needs of my family. It is unlikely that the Lord will not understand that I have more important priorities such as my responsibilities of being a parent. As they say, "nothing can compensate for failure in the home". What good is actively serving in the Lord's vineyard when I could not even attend to the more important concerns of those that I love?

In this case scenario, we tend to distinguish two functions that seem to compete with each other. One is our role as parents and the other one is our role as chosen servants of the Lord. Both functions were given to us by God and such should not be viewed as conflicting but rather complimenting.

We know for a fact that while acting as parents, we also have to work in order to provide for our children's needs. Have we ever thought that this two functions are in conflict with each other? It may be true in some sense most especially if our work requires that we leave our children behind but what matters most in our minds is that "we are doing it not for ourselves but for our children". Have we ever thought the same in as far as serving the Lord?

The truth is we tend to loose sight of the fact that all were given to us by God and none of it should be lost. There is always a time and a purpose for everything that is happening in us and the best way to positively appreciate any eventuality is to seek a fresh word from the Giver of Life.

It is never the intention of the Lord to complicate our lives. The build up of pressures in performing various functions usually happens if we do not allow the Holy Spirit to manifest Himself in us. The key to this is to always start your day with a prayer . . .

This gives you the heart to value all that God has given you no matter how small it may be because at the end of the day, you will thank the Lord that you did not loose anything that He has given you.
