In John 16:23, our Lord Jesus Christ said, “if you ask anything of the Father, he will give it to you in my name”.
We should focus more on the Giver and not the Gifts. God expects us to first have an intimate relationship with His Son because only through Him will we receive anything that we ask for.
How can we invoke the mighty name of Jesus in prayer if we know in ourselves that we are not that close to Him?
"I must admit that this is the most important aspect that I have missed in my long years of serving God. I failed to see and understand the true meaning of being a Christian. I was not able to cultivate my relationship with Jesus as what Mary did, and became like her sister Martha who is more focused on service."
It is never too late to see the light at the end of the tunnel so to speak. Jesus opened a new chapter of your life where you have found a true friend. A friend who has earned for you the love of the Father, because you have learned to love Him and believed that truly, He comes from the Father (John 16:27).
