In Luke 24:26, our Lord Jesus said, "Was it not necessary that the Christ should suffer these things and enter into his glory?"
Passing through rough times are necessary to achieve glory. It is a process where one must endure pains and sufferings in order to treasure his gains. It is a test of faith and endurance where one hopes for the fulfillment of God's promise.
If you focus on the suffering, you will find yourself burdened but if you set your eyes on the gain or the glory that awaits, no amount of pain will ever make you give up.
Jesus knew that it was necessary to suffer and to undergo such painful process in order to enter into His glory. In His passion, He walked the path towards glory, not mindful of His suffering but the divine purpose for which He came. He knows that His victory is at hand as He walked the final steps towards its fulfillment.
Like the two men who were on the road to Emma'us, Jesus meets us along the way in our life's journey. He sets Himself as an example for us to follow, always reminding us that painful events will lead us to the grace of becoming better persons in the end.
We must not be persuaded by talks we hear from other people but to completely rely and depend upon God's Word and allow our Lord Jesus to interpret them in our hearts.
Father in heaven, be it unto me according to your word!
