God is your only hope; pour out your heart before Him. He alone is your rock, salvation, stronghold and refuge. Do not be disturbed. Trust in Him at all times!
REFLECTION
Do not be mistaken; I intentionally rephrased the title instead of reflecting upon the phrase “Do not be disturbed”.
“Do not Disturb” is a common expression or signage similar to “We are Open”, “Closed” and the like. This is usually posted if a person or group is preoccupied with something they do not wish to loose sight on. They want isolation, free from any obstruction so that their focus may not be hindered.
It can also be viewed as “A Moment of Grace” where one goes into solitude in order to find oneself.
Early this year, I went into a semi-directional silent retreat where one is not allowed to interact with other participants. It is a time when one can be alone in order to have a one-on-one encounter with God. It was a very fitting and memorable experience in order to start the year right.
Once in a while, we find ourselves longing for such moment of grace. We just wanted to be left alone so that we can think and examine for ourselves what to do in a given situation.
This is the reason why I usually wake up very early in the morning. It gives me that sense of a quiet atmosphere at home, where I can gather my fresh thoughts and establish the priorities I have to make for the day in accordance with the Lord’s guidance and directions.
PRAYER
Father God, thank You for the times or each moment of grace that You allow me to be in solitude; undisturbed by the many distractions of the world. At these times, I can truly feel and experience Your loving presence, capturing my heart and mind to focus on Your will. It also at these times when You prepare me to face the challenges that each day brings. A time when I have to wait upon You before deciding on what actions to take.
May I always find favor in You in all the things that I do, brought about by these solitude moment of grace of having encounter with You. In Jesus Name, I pray. Amen.
