As I watched, Thrones were set up and the Ancient One took his throne. His clothing was snow bright, and the hair on his head as white as wool; His throne was flames of fire, with wheels of burning fire. A surging stream of fire flowed out from where he sat; Thousands upon thousands were ministering to him, and myriads upon myriads attended him.
The court was convened, and the books were opened. As the visions during the night continued, I saw One like a son of man coming, on the clouds of heaven; When he reached the Ancient One and was presented before him, He received dominion, glory, and kingship; nations and peoples of every language serve him. His dominion is an everlasting dominion that shall not be taken away, his kingship shall not be destroyed.
REFLECTION
God’s word today reminded me of two parish events over the weekend.
One is the 1st Vicariate Marriage Encounter Weekend that started yesterday and will end by tomorrow. Our parish was tasked to take the lead on this memorable encounter with the Lord. As the service team, how did they prepare themselves for such an event?
Parish evangelization programs such as these are not meant for people to build their own kingdoms, but rather an invitation of the Lord for His people to actively participate and be a part of His church. Our mission as servants of God is to spread the word and by doing so, bring people to experience a life changing encounter with Him. Joy in serving comes from understanding our role and participation in God’s redemptive work. He is the one at work and we should all be thankful for being given the opportunity and privilege to witness how He transforms lives of people.
The second is the servant leaders consultation which is set for tomorrow. It is like a court that has been convened and the books were opened for those servants who have shown utmost dedication and humble service to God.
Let us all pray to the Lord as we present these nominees to Him together with the rest of the parish community, that He may enlighten us through our pastor, as to who among these servant nominees will He choose and bless to serve His church.
May the good Lord continue to bless the journey of our parish community to always remain as one body Christ who alone; has kingship and everlasting dominion over all of us.
