It took the wisdom of age for you to know and be with God.
When you were young, you got lost but the loving Father in heaven has found you. Now, He has place His own heart in you. Instead of giving up on you, He has retained you for Himself.
Continue to serve in His behalf by spreading the gospel. He has given you His consent to do so. This good you will do is not forced but voluntary.
Perhaps this is why he has allowed you to be away for a while, that He may have you back forever. No longer as a slave of sin but as a man in the Lord. You are now His partner in all His good works.
REFLECTION
It took me until the age of past 40 when I can truly say that God has found me. He has given me a totally new kind of life that I have never imagined!
Looking back at my past life, I can openly say that I am one of those worst sinners of my time. I am not saying that I have already totally overcome the sins of the world but at least I am now more conscious on the repercussions of sins. What matters to me is that God did not look upon my sins but on my desire to reconcile with Him.
This is how much God loves us. If we are willing to forgive our own children out of our love for them, how much more is our Father in heaven?
For quite a period of time now, I have been actively serving in our parish. One month from now, I will be ending my two year term as the Parish Pastoral Council Head Servant. Many are wondering, will this be the end of my service to God? For me, this is out of the question.
Wherever the Lord leads, I will follow. Service is not all about titles and positions but more on a partnership with God towards a journey of life that is pleasing to Him. Service to God is not a time-bound act but an eternal commitment of aligning your life to will of God. This is where you can put to use the talents that God has given you.
PRAYER
Father God, I am now on the mid-life so to speak and I just thank You for not giving up on me. You have given me a totally renewed and changed life that has brought peace not only to me but to all my love ones as well.
You have given me the opportunity to be of service to Your church and have allowed me to use the talents you gave in order to minister to others.
As I continue to journey with the Moments of Grace that You bestow upon me, please guide each and every step I make. Looking beyond today is a gift that I look forward to with the hope that each moment added to my life will bring to fulfillment all of my heart’s desires. In Jesus Name, I pray. Amen.
