WOULD YOU BUILD ME A HOUSE TO DWELL IN?

When the Word of the Lord comes, nothing will ever be the same . . .

Bailey Coney interprets to the word "GO" to mean "Gospel to Others" which is precisely the Great Commission that the Lord had spoken before He ascended to heaven. “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature.” (Mark 16:15)

Over the past many years since I became a servant of the Lord, I have held a very important mission and that is to "Build the House of God". Up until now, the construction of our church is still on-going and it may take a couple of years more, depending on the will of God.

Before I took on this assignment from our pastor, I prayed hard to God for enlightenment, given the situations of life I face as head of the family in providing food for the table and other basic necessiities. His Word then came, " Would you build me a house to dwell in?"

At first I was dumbfounded and hesitant, knowing that such a responsibility would entail a great deal of time and resources. On top of this, my main concern is to really find ways and means on how I could profitably work in achieving our own goal to build a house of our own in this new village where my family has moved. The Lord took us out from the busy city setting of Manila to live quietly and peacefully in a more secured residential village. Never in my wildest imagination that after this, I will be called to life of service in God's vineyard.

Physically speaking, our old church looks like a tent, octagonal in shape, and built to accommodate around Five Hundred Mass Goers. The population grew to more than double its capacity, leaving other parishioners to stand on the sides outside the church, just to hear Mass.

In my nothingness, God has made me into something. Through thick and thin, he has always been with me, taking on the battles and challenges of life that have been laid down before me. He has appointed me to be the Head Servant of His Church. In thanksgiving to all that he has done, how can I ever resist this once in a lifetime privelage to be used as an instrument to build His Church?

God can not be outdone in generosity. He has given me an assignment with a corresponding reward that answers my own dreams and aspirations to have a house of our own in this land where he made us dwell. Thus, says the Lord, ". Moreover the LORD declares to you that the LORD will make you a house".

PRAYER

Father God, your word is truly awesome and powerful!

You have given me a mission to fulfill
and that is to build your house
with the hope that you will do the same for me.
I pray for all those who have helped
in building and expanding your church
that they too may enjoy the fruits and abundance
of your love and graces.

May you always keep my family and love ones
under the shelter of your protection and guidance
as you continue look upon us all
with Fatherly love and care.

All these I pray in Jesus Name. Amen.
