BECOME LIKE CHILDREN

"Truly, I say to you, 

unless you turn and become like children, 

you will never enter the kingdom of heaven." 

(Matthew 18:3)

See what love the Father has bestowed on us that we may be called the Children of God. Yet so we are. (1 John 3:1)

Now that we are reborn, as I have said, in the likeness of our Lord, and have indeed been adopted by God as his children, let us put on the complete image of our Creator so as to be wholly like him, not in the glory that he alone possesses, but in innocence, simplicity, gentleness, patience, humility, mercy, harmony, those qualities in which he chose to become, and to be, one with us. (St Peter Chrysologus)

Beloved, we are God’s children now; what we shall be has not yet been revealed. We do know that when it is revealed we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is. (1 John 3:2)

And now, children, remain in him, so that when he appears we may have confidence and not be put to shame by him at his coming. (1 John 2:28)
